I am currently a PhD researcher in urban geography at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. My research interests focus on gentrification, neighbourhood change and urban regeneration. My PhD dissertation is centred on how large flagship urban regeneration projects (museums, convention centres, themed districts), which are generally geared to outsiders, such as investors or tourists, are viewed by the local resident population.
I am originally from Toronto, Canada, but have since 2004, lived in Utrecht in the Netherlands. I have also spent time living and studying in Edinburgh, Scotland.
