Urban Planner

In Wisconsin, our urban planning and design group offers full service community planning, urban design and transit and transportation planning services. This team is looking for a two to four-year Urban Planner with public involvement aptitude and inclination who can grow into one of our specialty areas/niche markets.

 

This position will require a minimum of 25% regional travel, and compensated overtime as work requires.



Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of this position would be to assist with:

  • The distillation of technical information and data into reports for the client
  • Interpretation of data to be distributed and/or presented to the public on behalf of the client
  • Coordination meetings on behalf of the client
  • Working on general transit and transportation planning projects
  • Ability to understand , apply and prepare project deliverables that comply with state and federal regulations, such as NEPA, Clean Water Act, Historic Preservation Act and other regulations that apply to infrastructure projects


Qualifications:

The qualified candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Urban Design and Planning; Master's preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of urban planning experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, focusing on the communication of technical material to non-technical audiences
  • Experience in public speaking and giving presentations to moderately size groups
