North Central Texas Council of GovernmentsWorkforce Economic PlannerThe NCTCOG, a regional planning agency serving more than 200 local governments in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, is seeking an Economic Planner II for the Workforce Development department.
The purpose of this position is to manage the collection of data needed for workforce related programs and to assist with the design and implementation of systems necessary for efficiently storing and using the data, including assisting with the design of systems that combine and display data that provides useful information. Other duties include assisting with the analysis of data required to complete projects and programs of the Planning Team and identifying potential new programs and associated data needed for them.
This postion will be part-time for 2-3 weeks for paid training and full-time thereafter. Required Skills
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree in Demography, Mathematics, Business, Urban Planning, or other related field of study with at least 1 year of related work experience. Ability to analyze and interpret various demographic and economic data, knowledge of standard techniques for data analysis, and good writing and verbal communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional and ArcGIS is preferred. In addition, experience with SQL, Server Database, and SAS is preferred. The ideal candidate will have worked with demographic, labor market, and development data and be familiar with the Dallas/Fort Worth region. Required Experience
