SAIC, Inc.GIS Systems SupportThe Intelligence and Information Solutions Business Unit currently has an opening for Senior System Support.
Tasks include the following: providing Tier 1 support for GIS-related questions posed by both analysts and system administrators that are both local to NSAW and deployed throughout the Enterprise; working closely with service providers in the testing of new GIS software packages for inclusion on Agency baselines; working closely with ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute) Corporate Headquarters staff in obtaining relavant information/documentation/testing notes for use on the customer network; testing of new software applications written by members of the GIS office; approval/tracking of GIS-related trouble tickets; updating web pages/wiki's with support information.
Requirements: Bachelors degree (or equivilent experience) plus 8 years experience including the following. · 5 or more years experience as a Sr. Systems Support person in operating systems (Windows and Unix based), system administration, and standard network utilities and protocols (telnet, ftp, etc.). · in-depth knowledge using ESRI's GIS tool suite (4 years experience a plus). · in-depth knowledge using Analytical Graphics Inc. tool suite Satellite Toolkit (STK)(2 years experience a plus). · Proven ability to solve varied technical problems. · Proven ability to communicate with customers and technical personnel in both written and oral form. · Organization and customer service skills essential. · Web Server experience or knowledge a plus.
Knowledge of web browser applications and HTML desired
