Tetra Tech, Inc.GIS AnalystTetra Tech is a multi-disciplinary firm of consulting environmental scientists and engineers with offices throughout the United States. We are seeking a GIS Analyst to join our Tucson, Arizona office and become an integral member of our team.
Responsibilities:
Provide support for a wide-array of GIS data analysis, mapping, and related environmental tasks, including the collection, reduction, creation and manipulation of data for various engineering and environmental projects. This position will require GIS support for technical and scientific reports for clients and state and federal agencies, including, but not limited to: the preparation of map books, shape files and report figures; geospatial database creation; analysis and reduction of web-based applications and field GPS data; and general project mapping and data support. Perform various mapping tasks that require a working knowledge and implementation of geographic principles, cartography, geoprocessing and spatial analysis, database management and ESRI ArcGIS software technology. Field work will be required for some data collection and mapping activities.
Experience:
2+ years of relevant experience and technical course training in GIS applications.

Skills Requirements:
Strong ESRI ArcGIS (Suite 9.X or greater) skills and working knowledge of ArcPad, Pathfinder, and Terrasync. Ability to create quality maps using data from multiple platforms. Knowledge and operation of GPS Trimble and handheld units, including associated software, data capture, upload/download and maintenance of unit, and post-processing of GPS data. Knowledgeable in coordinate systems and projections. Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Access. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Candidate must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment. Previous experience related to AutoCAD and civil design, natural resources, environmental permitting and/or field experience a plus. Skills in the acquisition of publicly-available GIS data, such as Pima County mapguide data and other data sources in Arizona is a strong plus. Previous field experience with sampling and data management for surface water quality, groundwater quality, biological resources monitoring, and/or cultural resources documentation is a very strong plus.
Degree Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science or related field.
