AMECGIS AnalystRole Overview
AMEC Environment & Infrastructure is currently seeking a GIS Analyst in Durham.
Key Responsibilities
· GIS analysis and mapping support on a vast array of project types including:
o Soil and groundwater monitoring and remediation
o Vapor intrusion monitoring and mitigation
o Brownfield redevelopment
o Wetlands and Threatened and Endangered Species
· GIS database development
· Communicate with project team members and other stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and desired outputs
· Compile, manipulate, and refine geographic data from a variety of sources including public domain, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps
· Perform regular quality control checks of GIS Data and non-spatial databases with minimal supervision to ensure data integrity
· Manage individual project tasks related to GIS, database design and management, and data visualization
· Customize GIS workflow and software programs for data collection, engineering, and environmental applications
Role Requirements
· Minimum 2 – 5 years of GIS and database experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography or related field
· Fluent in ArcGIS Suite 9.X or greater
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Computer literate with excellent organizational skills
· Skilled in the acquisition of publicly available GIS data
· Knowledgeable in coordinate systems and projections
· Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite with focus on Excel, Access and Power Point
· Second degree in Environmental Science or equivalent preferred
