Loudoun County VirginiaGIS SpecialistLoudoun County's Department of Mapping and Geographic Information is seeking qualified applicants for a GIS Specialist position. This position maintains County core land records data including parcels, addresses, and centerline. Plans and manages maintenance projects. Collects source data, extracts required elements, edits and attributes spatial data and QC's results; resolves discrepancies through research; works to facilitate the improved use, performance, and maintenance of the GIS; maintains procedural manuals and documentation. Develops, modifies, and tests tools or programs. Conducts and supports special projects including dataset QC, research and analysis, and map creation. Answers customer (staff and public) questions concerning projects, and land records maps and spatial data.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Geography or related field and two years of experience in database development and spatial modeling and analysis using GIS preferred. Experience in ArcGIS preferred; experience in Python desirable.
