GIS Specialist

Your Duties:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Creating maps and performing a wide range of geospatial analyses using GIS and CAD software in support of the environmental permitting associated with major infrastructure projects
  • Managing wide variety of project-specific and reference geospatial data
  • Updating and maintaining mapping standards and work processes
  • Performing quality control processes on GIS products to maintain accuracy
Your Capabilities and Credentials:
  • Bachelors degree in environmental science or planning with a demonstrated emphasis in GIS
  • 3-5 years of sub professional or professional experience
  • Experience building and maintaining a GIS for the environmental permitting associated with major infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of mapping, coordinate systems, projections and scale
  • Experience editing and managing data in ArcSDE
  • Experience with ArcGIS Python Programming
  • Experienced in designing web mapping sites using ArcGIS Server and Adobe Flex
  • Experience managing and collecting GPS data in ArcPad and TerraSync
  • Extensive experience working on linear utility projects
  • Ability to occasionally travel overnight
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to clients business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate self and others to overcome obstacles and achieve goals
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize and balance sometimes heavy workloads to achieve goals while keeping up with a highly mobile and changing environment 
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to work well with others, to keep other team members aware of project and client needs
  • REQUIRED: Valid Class C Driver's License & the ability to perform field work
