Michael Baker CorporationLiDAR AnalystBaker is recruiting for a talented and organized LiDAR Analyst to join our Geospatial Department in the Pittsburgh, PA area. The candidate must possess a strong background in LiDAR data processing and strong analytical skills. This position is responsible for planning, processing, calibrating, analyzing, adjusting, or otherwise converting geospatial data in the form of LiDAR point clouds or imagery into final LiDAR mapping products and deliverables including planimetric and topographic maps.
Responsibilities include processing of geospatial data, including evaluating accuracy and sufficiency, and ensuring compliance to applicable project and industry standards related to LiDAR mapping products; classification of LiDAR point clouds; extraction of mapping features, planimetrics, and breaklines from LiDAR point clouds and handling ground based images; importing geospatial products into PLS-CADD/TOPODOT and subsequent processing; and handling Quality Control.
Minimum requirements include:
· 4 year degree in Geography, Geomatics or a related degree;
· 6+ years progressive experience in Geocue, Terrasolid and POSPAC products towards creation of LAS files, spatial constrain, classification and extraction of planimetric features from point cloud;
· Working knowledge of Terraphoto;
· Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skills;
· Proven work history, strong work ethic and team-player attitude;
· Self-starter, and able to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities; and
· Strong interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Preferences include:
· Transportation and/or Electric Transmission experience; and
· Exposure with or proficiency in static LiDAR and photogrammetric mapping workflows.
