GIS Analyst

Position Summary:     Under general supervision, provides and coordinates complex research/data analysis, systems design, programming, and support of computer-based GIS/GPS (Geographic Information Systems/Global Positioning Systems) mapping and related statistical software. Administers selected grant-funded projects, and provides technical leadership and administrative coordination to a team of GIS technical staff and/or students.

Minimum Qualifications:     Bachelor's degree with 1 to 3 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. 
Preferred Qualifications:    
Knowledge of GPS and total station data collection techniques including use of Trimble, Topcon and similar professional equipment.
Demonstrated proficiency in drafting and drawing skills and knowledge of cartographic techniques, and map reading.
Knowledge and proficiency in using software including MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD.
Demonstrated proficiency in compiling and integrating geospatial data from a wide variety of sources-- Web, GPS, EDM, field maps, and digitizer--into publishable maps for technical reports.
Ability to use aerial orthophotographs.
Knowledge and experience, at the supervisory level, of archeological fieldwork methods for both survey and excavation.
Experience with report production.
Familiarity with Terra Sync and ArcPad.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
