GIS Specialist

Minimum Requirements:     
• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning, or related area of study
• Minimum two years of relevant experience in GIS Analysis and Data Management (Geodatabases and ArcSDE)
• Strong proficiency with ESRI Arc GIS Suite
• Experience utilizing GIS on NEPA related projects (integrating engineering, site property, wetland, geological, biological, and cultural resources data into GIS)
• Experience with data exchange between CAD and GIS formats
• Working knowledge of GPS hardware and software, and the integration of GPS data into GIS software
• Ability and willingness to multi-task and work on many different projects simultaneously in a team environment
• Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized, and effectively manage time
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, Adobe InDesign CC, and Internet Applications

The Infrastructure and Environment Division of URS is actively seeking a creative highly talented GIS Specialist for immediate employment in the Dallas office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in GIS analysis specific to (geospatial) data management. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting challenging projects. The position will entail projects that include database and form design, web and mobile GIS solutions and applications, and geospatial data management using ESRI ArcSDE/ArcGIS Server on a wide variety of environmental and engineering projects.

The position would involve the following responsibilities:
• Conduct GIS analysis and create map production for a wide variety of engineering and environmental projects.
• Analyze, convert, or transfer data using GIS software.
• Proactively evaluate optimal and efficient solutions to geospatial problems on projects.
• Contribute to the design of databases or development of geodatabases and systems.
• Will communicate with internal and external clients on GIS needs.
• Working cooperatively with project staff and clients.
