GIS Programmer

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Information Technology with additional IT technical training
• Or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and IT-related experience
• At least 1 year of experience developing GIS related applications
• At least 2 years of experience using modern programming / scripting languages such as C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, JavaScript, Python
• At least 1 year of experience using enterprise GIS software such as ArcServer, ArcSDE, etc.
• Understanding of relational database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, MYSQL
• Understanding of GIS concepts, theories and analysis methods
• Valid driver's license required
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Job Description: The Information Management Systems Department of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented GIS Programmer for immediate employment in the Morrisville (Raleigh), NC office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in computer programming, specific to Geographic Information Systems. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including GIS application development, Enterprise Information Systems, Database Design and ETL.

Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Work as part of an application development team that develops desktop and web applications
• Develop Extract, Transfer and Loading scripts and data conversion models
• Perform GIS related tasks such as geodatabase design and software installation
• Update and review SDLC documents
• Perform data development tasks, analyze data collection procedures
