Assist with work encountered in project design, both field and GIS, for the Company or its clients. Migrate information from paper maps to an electric utility Geographic Information System. Run Specialized GIS applications such as connectivity trace, phase update and integrity check.
Essential Functions of Position:
- Responsible for DEG (Distribution Engineering Group) related layout and design of CADD documents as required by TRC clients.
- Assist in the gathering of information from field notes.
- Perform tasks such as digitizing, copying and scanning of drawings, prints and maps.
- Assist in the acquisition of field data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months to 2 years related experience
- Some college a plus
- GIS Certification a plus
- Electric utility background is an advantage
- Analytical competence to interact with variety of individuals including engineers and experienced distribution system designers.
- Shall have the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels in the organization and with outside clients and agencies.
- Must be a self-starter able to work with others and to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to interpret symbols, lines, and text on maps
- Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office, email, and internet
- Ability to interface with clients, internal colleagues, and management in the performance of duties
- Manage time effectively and prioritize multiple assignments for maximum productivity
- GIS Certification a plus
