Job Description: In this position, candidate will support project engineers with tasks involving GIS Applications, report preparation, Corps of Engineers Benefit Cost analysis and hydraulic/hydrologic analysis.
Responsibilities & Objectives: • Perform economic calculations and apply ArcView GIS in engineering and planning applications • Conduct county wide flood risk studies • Utilize GIS and writing skills to perform hazard mitigation planning • Evaluation of Benefit Cost Analysis and project formulation • Provide input data for hydrologic and hydraulic applications and GIS input for Hazard Mitigation Reports • Report writing and preparation • Occasional travel to field/client sites or other URS offices
This position is part of our Water Resources Group, working with a team of 14-18 staff members, including registered Professional Engineers, Professional Planners and Certified Floodplain Managers. Reports to a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer, depending on staff required for individual projects.
