Urban Planner (Transportation Focus)

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Urban Planning with a focus on Transportation, Transportation Planning, Transportation and Public Policy or similar field, or currently in pursuit of Master Degree in Urban Planning with focus on Transportation
• Minimum three years of demonstrated experience on transportation planning, transit planning, land use / transit-oriented development projects and studies, in professional or academic/research or internship capacity
• Familiarity with data sources and analysis concepts in transportation planning
• Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite tools, with facility with GIS
• Clear and succinct writing style; confident oral-communication and presentation skills
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and balance roles on multiple projects
• AICP Certification or ability to achieve within once year of hire

• Familiarity with traffic engineering concepts and travel demand modeling

Job Description: URS is a leading provider of engineering, construction and technical services for public agencies and private sector companies around the world. The Company offers a broad range of planning, engineering and architectural design, environmental, construction, program and construction management, systems integration, operations and maintenance, management and a wide range of specialized technical services for the U.S. federal government, state and local government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and other multinational corporations. We provide services for transportation, hazardous waste, industrial infrastructure and process, petrochemical, general building, water/wastewater, military facilities and equipment platforms, and defense and security programs.

Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Gather, manipulate, synthesize and present data, including socio-economic, transportation metrics, traffic and travel demand, and other; analyze and propose interpretations and conclusions
• Prepare internal and client-facing documents and deliverables in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite and GIS, including written work products, charts and tables, and map graphics
• Research and apply developments in applicable local, state and federal public policy and industry best practices to project analysis and recommendations
• Participate in collaborative meetings and work sessions with clients, public agencies, and general public/stakeholders
• Produce high quality work products under project/task manager direction, using practices of detailed checking of work and quality control
