Summary of Position
The Department of Geography (http://www.unh.edu/geography) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin in August 2015. We seek a broadly-trained human geographer whose primary teaching and research interests are in economic geography, can teach GIS and statistics, and links theory to practical applications. We seek candidates who can contribute to the growth and development of a small, undergraduate department that places a high value on both research and teaching excellence. Faculty are expected to be effective teachers, develop a record of significant scholarship, and provide meaningful service. Teaching load is four courses per year. Teaching responsibilities include an introductory economic geography course, development of a GIS course for the social sciences and humanities, a statistics course, and other courses in the candidate's area of expertise.
Acceptable Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Geography is required, though ABD candidates nearing completion will be considered. Candidates must possess a regional specialty other than North America, Latin America, and the Middle East.
