GIS Systems Developer

Minimum Requirements:

•Associate's degree in Information Technology with additional IT technical training and relevant certifications
• Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, engineering, planning or related field can substitute for two years of experience
• Minimum eight years of experience working with ESRI ArcGIS and practical hands-on experience in geodatabase administration and maintenance using Microsoft SQL Server with ESRI ArcSDE, including integrating geodatabases into enterprise web & desktop applications
• Some experience working with Python scripts
• Excellent communication skills required, as well as strong problem solving skills
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

Job Description: The GIS Group of AECOM is actively seeking a GIS Systems Administrator/Developer to be based in our Columbia, SC office. This position is responsible for managing enterprise ArcGIS/Web Server and SQL/SDE database environments. Under supervision of the department manager a successful candidate will coordinate with department staff, project support teams and clients to develop, process and manage solutions for geospatial data critical to successful project delivery. Projects vary widely and include asset management, implementation of Cityworks, infrastructure permitting, and mobile deployments. The successful candidate will provide remote support for ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online applications and Cityworks implementations, and customized code.

Incumbent responsibilities:
•Provide day-to-day operational support for enterprise GIS systems and software
•Patch, troubleshoot, routine maintenance, upgrade and generally verify system readiness and availability
•Provide enterprise SQL/SDE geodatabase support, including managing a multi user production environment, creating new databases, loading/restoring data, defining schemas, routine maintenance, backups and managing user access and permissions
•Create, deploy and support map services in support of project initiatives utilizing ArcGIS Server JavaScript API and HTML5
•Utilize best practices for building and securing map services
•Work with project managers and clients to determine the scope and effort for proposal and/or project delivery, gather and document business and system requirements, propose solutions that leverage enterprise technologies and investments
•Develop and implement data management plans, workflows, best practices, and processes for enterprise GIS.
•Utilize scripting and scheduling to support project specific and system wide automation
