$3,288 - $5,421/Monthly ($39,446 - 65,052/Annually)

Anticipated Hiring Range*

$4,000 Month ( $48,000 Annually) Salary is commensurate with experience.

Position Summary*

Independently but in coordination with the Director, provide administrative, analytical and technical support for CSU GIS Specialty Center, subscribed to by most CSU campuses, and providing software access for Esri, ERDAS, ENVI, ATCOR, eCognition, Trimble, Matlab, and other packages. Provide user and technical support for Institute for Geographic Information Science and the Department of Geography & Environment, extending to the general campus GIS community as needed to meet Institute goals and CSU requirements.

Minimum Qualifications*

- Two years of experience and/or coursework in GIS and related software
- Bachelors degree in related field, or acceptance into graduate program in GIS-related field, or combination of education and related work experience
- Use of Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel
- Basic Web page editing using HTML or Drupal

- Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems license programs and policies
- Basic knowledge of, and ability to apply, fundamental concepts, budget policies, procedures, and to make recommendations to meet programmatic goals
- Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures related to and impacting the program
- Ability to organize and plan work and projects including handling multiple priorities
- Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to the program
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group, and serve as a liaison for the organizational unit

Preferred Qualifications

- Advanced knowledge of Geographic Information Systems
- Proficiency in GIS programming and geoprocessing using Python
- Proficiency in web GIS
- Proficiency in web GIS programming using Javascript
- Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques
.
