Lecturer - Geography

Job Description Summary     

The Department of Geology and Geography at Auburn University invites applications for a 9-month renewable non-tenure-track Lecturer position in Geography beginning August 16, 2015. The position is a one-year appointment subject to annual review based on performance and funding. The candidate should be pedagogically trained to teach courses including, but not limited to world regional geography and human/cultural geography.

Candidates with pedagogical/education coursework and/or training are preferred. The successful candidate will teach three or more lecture sections each semester.

This appointment will also assist with the student learning outcome assessment and have a small outreach/service assignment.

Minimum Qualifications     

Required qualifications include excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. The candidate selected for this position must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States on the date the appointment is scheduled to begin and to continue working legally for the term of employment.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or MA/MS in Geography with demonstrable teaching experience.
