Job Summary
The Department of Geography at Central Washington University invites applications for a nine-month, full-time non-tenure track Lecturer position beginning 16 September, 2015. The person hired will teach two to three courses per quarter, including one to two sections per quarter of Our Dynamic Earth (Physical Geography) as well as advanced undergraduate courses in the successful applicant’s general area of specialization. Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Geography or related field
Demonstrated teaching effectiveness
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Geography or related field
Demonstrated effectiveness teaching introductory physical geography
Ability to teach advanced undergraduate geography courses that fit well in the department’s curriculum

The department currently has ten tenured and tenure-track faculty, several non-tenure track faculty, and three support staff. There are approximately 70 undergraduate majors. The department has a vibrant GIS certificate program and is an integral part of several interdisciplinary programs, especially the Masters of Science in Resource Management.
