About the Position:
The County of San Luis Obispo is looking for a talented individual for the position of Geographic Information Systems Analyst I or II. San Luis Obispo County Information Technology Department (ITD) supports the countywide technology infrastructure and approximately 2,500 users. The County's implementation of GIS crosses multiple departments and is coordinated through the County ITD. This position reports to the GIS Program Manager.

The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be experienced in a variety of analytical and technical duties related GIS application development and support. You must be skilled in interpreting customer needs and and identifying GIS solutions. Experience and education in GIS, Cartography, Planning, Computer Science and Engineering are some of the many fields that may allow you to be successful in the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
GIS Analyst I: An Associate’s degree in GIS, Cartography, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, Planning, or other GIS related field OR 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university which includes coursework in a GIS related field. (Job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
GIS Analyst II: Either A: Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Cartography, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, Planning, or other GIS related field. OR B: An associate’s degree or 60 semester units or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university in any of the fields listed above and two years of experience related to geographic information systems or computer-aided mapping. (Job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
