Previous University/College-level teaching experience preferred.
Expertise/Knowledge:
Windows shell commands and shell scripting
GDAL and OGR geoprocessing utilities
Common geospatial raster and vector file formats
Spatial reference systems and formats
Python programming with GDAL and OGR
Python programming with ArcPy |
Principal duties:
Teach Geography 378: Introduction to Geocomputing. Duties include preparing on-line course materials, holding office hours; supervising one TA, preparing, administering, and grading exams.
This Fall Semester 2015 course will be online. Course material will be on-line and labs will be taught on-site by a TA. |

Current graduate students appointed as Lecturers will be paid at the UW-Madison Lecturer (SA) rate. The current full-time academic year rate $37,245.
Preference is for a Lecturer who can be on campus for the duration of the course.
There is a possibility this position can be extended in subsequent semesters to teach one or more of course(s) listed on this PVL, or similar courses within the department. This position may become renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment. |
