James Madison UniversityAssistant Professor - Geographic ScienceJob Description The program seeks a Geographer with expertise in one or more areas of GIScience such as: cartography, internet-GIS, geovisualization, spatiotemporal modeling, real-time GIS and Big Data.
Minimum Qualifications The successful candidate should have demonstrated capabilities in applying programming skills and geospatial methods and technologies to environmental geography, humanitarian issues, urban sustainability, or other foci relevant to our program through innovative teaching, research, scholarship and service. Only applicants with a demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially as part of an interdisciplinary team, and who demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and research will be considered. An earned Ph.D. in Geography or closely related discipline is required at the time of appointment. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation.
