GIS Analyst

Are you a GIS Data Content Analyst with extensive and varied experience who is looking for your next challenge? Apple is seeking a talented and detail-oriented individual who has strong database, analytical and statistical skills to perform detailed data analysis and quality control. In addition the candidate will be part of highly skilled team that develops and maintains a complex array of data content working through cross-team collaboration.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years working experience in Geography/GIS or related field
  • Proven leadership capabilities
  • Strong analytical skills and intuition, capable of making decisions based on analysis and experience
  • Strong competence in data analysis and data mining
  • Demonstrated experience scripting solutions for repetitive tasks (using tools such as Python, Bash)
  • Experience with big data solutions such as Hadoop, Hive, Cassandra, or MongoDB
  • Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, Quantum GIS, or PostgreSQL/PostGIS
  • Significant experience in cartography.
  • Able to work both in a team and independently as required
  • Self-driven with the ability to manage analysis projects across diverse team skill sets
  • Quickly and effectively shifts gears to meet changing business requirements
  • Product Management experience a plus
  • Attention to detail, data accuracy and quality of output
  • Results oriented

Description

- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment. - Lead small teams to complete complex GIS analysis projects. - Interpret data specifications, collect metadata, and disseminate knowledge to all teams throughout the organization. - Perform ad hoc and structured data analysis; evaluate, assess and report data quality. - Inspect, process and edit data. - Develop and manage projects through cross-team coordination, to deliver the best geospatial analysis possible. - Communication of detailed analysis to a high-level audience for decision-making purposes. - Support creation of and review technical specifications. - Develop short and long term data content plans.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree: Geography or Computer Science preferred
