Assistant Professor of Geography

The College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Arlington seeks applications for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor in Geography.  Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in geography or a closely related field and a research agenda focused on health/medical geography.   Preferred qualifications include proficiency with Geographic Information Systems (particularly social science or humanities applications) and strong potential for securing extramural funding.  Desirable qualifications include expertise in historical geographies of health, expertise in a major world region, and interest in developing and teaching new geography courses.  The Department of History administers the expanding geography program at UTA and anticipates the creation of a new major in geography beginning in 2017.
