DEPAUL UNIVERSITY, Department of Geography, Chicago, IL 60614. The Department of Geography seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Geography with expertise in Geographic Information Systems to begin in Fall 2016. DePaul University offers the longest-running undergraduate BA degree concentration in Geotechnology/GIS in Chicago, an established 5-course GIS Certificate, and contributes courses to DePaul’s new MA in Sustainable Urban Development. The Department has strengths in urban geography, GIS/remote sensing, sustainable urban development and critical environmental studies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach GIS courses that serve both the undergraduate and graduate geotechnology curriculum, and expand upon these strengths to develop new courses in web/mobile GIS. Other scholarly interests may relate to transportation, environmental justice, big data analytics, food security, public health, geohumanities, and GIS education. Required Qualifications
The starting date for this tenure-track position is 1 September 2016. Candidates will need to have completed their doctoral degree by the time of employment.
