The Children’s Environmental Health Initiative (CEHI) within the Office of Research at Rice University currently has a position opening for a GIS analyst. CEHI is a research, education, and outreach program committed to fostering environments where all people can prosper. Our work focuses on applying GIS data and techniques to a wide range of environmental, health, and social problems. The position provides GIS support to a series of spatially based research projects focused on health outcomes. Specific tasks include: technical support for GIS research projects, data processing and management activities, and general support for GIS training efforts.
Education Required Bachelor's Degree
Concentration / Degree Type
Geographic information systems, geography, planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Substitution for Education Requirement
May substitute additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year for year basis in lieu of the education requirement.
Education Preferred
Master’s degree and equivalent course work in geographic information systems, geography, planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Experience Required 3 years

Three (3) years (including coursework and internships) working with Geographic Information System (GIS).
